Every GlideWay Driver Is Insured
Rideshare insurance is mandatory and non-negotiable for all GlideWay drivers. Coverage is structured across three driving periods so you always know exactly how you are protected.
Mandatory Requirement — Read Carefully
It is strictly prohibited to drive on the GlideWay platform without a valid personal auto insurance policy in your name. Driving while uninsured, with a lapsed policy, or with falsified insurance documents is grounds for immediate and permanent deactivationand may violate state law. GlideWay's rideshare coverage supplements — it does not replace — your required personal policy.
The Three Coverage Periods
Your protection changes based on what you are doing in the app.
App On — Waiting for a Request
You are online and available, but have not accepted a trip yet.
Contingent liability coverage applies during this period, on top of your required personal auto policy.
Trip Accepted — En Route to Pickup
You have accepted a ride and are driving to the rider's location.
Primary commercial auto liability of $1,000,000 begins the moment you accept the trip.
Rider On Board — Trip in Progress
The rider is in your vehicle until you complete the drop-off.
The full $1,000,000 primary liability plus physical-damage protection stays active for the entire ride.
App Off — Personal Use
When the GlideWay app is closed or you are offline, you are driving for personal reasons and your own personal auto insurance policy applies. GlideWay coverage is not active during this time.
